Health & Safety

“Not only Dads work in construction”

Health and Safety, full compliance with all current regulationsEverybody has the right to go to work
without risk to their health but construction sites are dangerous places where the potential for serious injury is high. The introduction of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 1994 placed responsiblities on clients, designers and contractors alike to
reduce or manage those risks, but the extent of key duty holders responsibilities are not always fully understood.

The CDM Regulations also introduced a requirement for clients to appoint a Planning Supervisor to co-ordinate health and safety on a project and ensure that all parties comply with their duties. Unfortunately, the use of computers, photocopiers etc means that health and safety paperwork is often bureaucratic, voluminous and ineffectual.

At James Collie Associates we adopt a clear and simple approach to ensure effective health & safety management and all our work is overseen by one of our directors who has been accepted onto the Health & Safety Register of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
